NEW ART RELEASE
APRIL FOOL'S DAY
MARCH 29, 2021 BY: JC RODRIGUEZ
David Shrigley is at it again. In collaboration with All Rights Reserved, Shrigley will be releasing a new set of prints on his favorite day of the year, April Fools Day (April 1st). The collaboration will feature two sets of prints and a sculpture. The prints are titled "Fuck, I've Got Your Lipstick, I Am Elegant I Am Oh So Very Very Elegant and I Hate Human Beings."
Why April Fools Day? “I like April Fool’s Day because, I guess it’s a day when traditionally I look at the newspaper, or on the Internet, or on TV for April Fool’s jokes that are being played on me, on everybody really,” Shrigley said in a statement. “It’s good if you remember that it’s April the 1st, a lot of times I forget. Sometimes I don’t find out about the jokes until later, in retrospect.”
The prints will be released in a series of 125 pieces and the sculpture will have 75 pieces released. The Prints which will be sold in pairs will cost $2,800 and the sculpture will be priced at $850.

About the Artist:
David Shrigley finds meaning in snippets of text and overheard conversations. His crude and cartoonish ink drawings, usually exhibited salon-style, recall pages from the sketchbook of a cheeky adolescent. Tackling serious issues, such as unemployment and child welfare, as well as more absurd subjects, including sexual fantasies about a squirrel, his fragmented narratives can be both poignant and funny. In a 2011 exhibition, Shrigley included a dead stuffed kitten that stood on its hind legs carrying a hand-lettered protest sign that read, “I’M DEAD.”
