Jamie Rose Valera is an art historian and theorist from San Francisco. She will be conferred in May of 2021 with her B.A. in the history of art and visual culture at the California College of the Arts. Her recent research interests span between the 19th and 21st centuries in the West, and investigates the notion of “art as archive.” After fulfilling an internship at a contemporary art gallery, she now focuses on pursuing academic and museum spaces. Her findings on contemporary art, outside of academia, can be found in publications such as PROVK Magazine and The Collector. Valera currently plans to continue onto graduate school, where she would like to later fulfill a Ph.D. of art history.
